Desk Correspondent , Kerala - Santhosh Nair, a well-known face in Malayalam cinema and television for over four decades, passed away in a tragic road accident in Kerala on Tuesday (May 5, 2026). Having acted in more than a hundred films and serials since the early 1980s, he was widely recognized and respected by audiences across the state.
The accident took place near Enathu in Pathanamthitta district during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Reports suggest that the car in which Santhosh Nair was travelling lost control and crashed into a lorry at around 6:30 a.m., resulting in critical injuries. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Adoor, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His wife, who was accompanying him at the time of the accident, also sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Authorities are looking into the exact cause of the accident. Santhosh Nair had built a strong reputation in the Malayalam entertainment industry through his versatile performances in both films and television serials. Over the years, he became a familiar and beloved figure among viewers.
