Desk Correspondent , Chennai - Priyanka Mohan is one of the very popular faces of the Tamil and Telugu film industry. She is known for some blockbuster hits like,Kannada film Ondh Kathe Hella, and appeared in the Telugu films Gang Leader, Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and the Tamil films Doctor, Don and Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Recently while shooting for her upcoming film with director Ra. Karthik for ‘Made in Korea’, which will release on Netflix on 12th March, she described her experience in a foreign country, Korea, to be not so pleasant.
Since this was her first international collaboration, she had to face some severe challenges for a 40 days schedule there. The most difficult being the food. She said that she had a horrible culinary experience as a vegetarian, because Korean food culture includes red meat in almost all their dishes. Besides food, she also mentions the unpredictable weather in Korea that was changing every minute, making it difficult to shoot according to the schedule. But other than these external factors one thing that caught her attention was the hard work and dedication of the fellow Korean actors, who had a very discipline way of working, which isn’t often seen anywhere else, she was so mesmerised by their approach, that she was finding it difficult to move back when it was time to come back to India.
Priyanka says that she felt as if she was experiencing Korea through her character, ‘Shenba,’ who belonged to a small village in Tamil Nadu and hasn’t explored the world beyond that. She dedicates her performance to the director and the team, for making her feel so comfortable while shooting. She also learned how to say ‘thank you’ in Korean which is, “Kamsahamnida’’. She fondly recalled the crew’s daily post-shoot ritual of bowing and saying it together.
