Lance Naik Manju is a determined and courageous soldier

Have a strong will  to make your dreams come true.

Lance Naik Manju, a determined and courageous soldier, became the first woman Soldier Sky Diver of the Indian Army. She made history by jumping from a height of 10,000 feet from an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv near Missamari, Assam. This jump was part of her training with the Indian Army’s Adventure Wing, and the Eastern Command praised her act as an inspiration for other women in the Army. Her journey shows that with strong will and hard work, dreams can come true, no matter how big the challenge.

Manju was born and raised in Dhamtan Sahib, a small village in the Jind district of Haryana. Her father is a farmer, and she grew up helping her family in the fields while studying in the village school. Coming from a humble background, life was never easy for her. She moved to Bangalore for higher education, which was a big step for a village girl. Facing financial issues and being far from home, she still pushed through, driven by her dream of joining the Indian Army.

She joined the Army on 14 December 2019 and began her training as a Military Police soldier on 15 January 2019 at the 51 Sub Area Provost Unit. After completing 61 weeks of intense training, she was posted to Assam, where she started her duties in Golpara, maintaining law and order in military units. Her fellow soldiers describe her as an "absolute warrior" who never backs down from challenges. Manju’s story is not just about breaking records, but about breaking barriers, fighting through real-life struggles, and showing what true courage looks like.
