A video circulating on social media shows a speeding Lamborghini losing control on Mumbai’s Coastal Road, crashing into a divider. The luxury car’s front was badly damaged, though miraculously, no injuries were reported.
The clip was shared by Gautam Singhania, Managing Director of Raymond Group, who expressed frustration and concern: “Another day, another Lamborghini mishap… Do these cars even have traction control? From catching fire to losing grip, what’s going on with Lamborghini?”
According to Worli police, the driver has been identified as 52-year-old Atish Shah from Nepean Sea Road. Shah was heading southbound towards Colaba when the car skidded, lost control, and crashed. No injuries were reported in the incident. Authorities have asked the Regional Transport Office to carry out a mechanical inspection of the vehicle.
This is not the first such incident involving a Lamborghini on this stretch. On December 25, 2024, another model caught fire along the Coastal Road. Again, thankfully, there were no casualties.
The incident has reignited debates over the performance, safety, and suitability of high-end supercars like Lamborghini in Indian traffic conditions, especially regarding features like grip, traction control, and reliability in less-than-ideal road or weather conditions.
