Ananya Lohia , Pune - The investigation into the murder of Pune-based realtor Ketan Agarwal intensified on Wednesday as police took co-accused Chetan Chaudhary to Lohagad Fort to recreate the sequence of events surrounding the alleged crime. The exercise came days after prime accused Siya Goyal was taken to the same location for a similar reconstruction.
According to police, the reconstruction and gait analysis are aimed at establishing the exact chain of events and verifying the movements of the accused at the crime scene. Investigators are expected to complete the legal formalities related to the reconstruction as part of the ongoing probe. Chetan's lawyer argued before the court that no specific role had been assigned to his client in the FIR or police remand reports, claiming the allegations against him were based largely on suspicion.
The defence has sought time to meet Chetan and prepare his version of events. The counsel also maintained that the investigation requiring police custody is nearly complete and said they would request the court to send Chetan to judicial custody after the current remand ends on July 3.
Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary were arrested on June 23 for allegedly conspiring to kill Ketan Agarwal by pushing him off a cliff at Lohagad Fort during a trek on June 18. Both remain in police custody as investigators continue to gather evidence in the high-profile murder case.
