Ananya Lohia , Pune -  The Pune Rural Police on Sunday took murder accused Siya Goyal to Lohagad Fort to recreate the sequence of events surrounding the alleged killing of her fiance, Ketan Agarwal.

The exercise, conducted under tight security, lasted nearly three hours and was aimed at verifying the circumstances leading up to Agarwal's death.According to investigators, Goyal allegedly revealed that she had agreed on a pre-decided signal with co-accused Chetan Chaudhary. Police said she would sit down—either pretending to drink water or tie her shoelaces—to indicate the moment for Chaudhary to allegedly push Agarwal off the cliff.

Officials claimed the signal was chosen to ensure Goyal remained out of Agarwal's reach during the fatal act. Investigators said he travelled to the fort on a scooter to avoid detection and changed his appearance at the location by removing and later putting back on a hoodie. Police further alleged that the accused had previously visited the fort to identify a suitable spot for the crime. Both accused are expected to be produced before a court on Monday as their police custody comes to an end.

Meanwhile, Goyal's lawyer has questioned the evidentiary value of statements made during police custody, stating that the case will ultimately depend on corroborative evidence gathered during the investigation.
