Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Known as one of the finest and most iconic actresses in Bollywood, Kajol has always been admired for her powerful performance and strong on-screen presence. After nearly 30 years in the industry, Kajol has broken her long- standing no- kissing policy for her OTT project THE trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha.
Speaking about her decision, Kajol revealed that breaking her long-standing no-kissing rule was not an easy choice. The actor admitted that she felt uncomfortable while performing the scene and had initial hesitation before agreeing to it.
She shared that although the scene was discussed beforehand, actually filming it felt different and challenging. However, Kajol emphasized that she approached it as a professional responsibility, keeping in mind the demands of the script and the depth required for her character in The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. The actress further explained that the scene was not added for glamour, but was important to portray the emotional complexity of her role. She believed that removing it would have affected the authenticity of the storyline. Kajol also highlighted how actors today are exploring more realistic and layered characters, especially on digital platforms, where storytelling often pushes boundaries. Despite her discomfort, she chose to step out of her comfort zone to stay true to the character and the narrative.
Kajol starred as Noyonika Sengupta, a housewife returning to law after her husband's scandal in The Trial - Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. The courtroom drama, directed by Suparn Verma, is an Indian adaptation of The Good Wife. It also starred Alyy Khan, and Sheeba Chaddha. Season 2 of the show was released last year. It is available to watch on JioHotstar.
In the end, Kajol's decision shows her willingness to evolve as an actor. Despite the discomfort, she chose to prioritize the story in The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha, proving her commitment to her work.
