Ananya Lohia , Delhi - Veteran actor Sir Sam Neill, best known for his iconic role in Jurassic Park, passed away at the age of 78 in Sydney, Australia. His family announced that he died peacefully on July 13, surrounded by loved ones.

Neill's family confirmed his death through a statement on social media, describing it as sudden and unexpected. They also revealed that the actor had remained cancer-free following treatment for stage three angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare and aggressive blood cancer. Earlier this year, Neill had shared that scans showed no trace of cancer after undergoing CAR T-cell therapy.

Born in New Zealand in 1947, Sam Neill enjoyed a career spanning over five decades, starring in acclaimed films and television series including Jurassic Park, Peaky Blinders, Merlin, Possession and The Omen III.
