Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Sunday withdrew its nationwide protest following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The announcement sparked celebrations at Jantar Mantar, where protesters hailed the development as a victory for democracy.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke welcomed the resignation but urged supporters not to turn the movement into a personality cult, saying the achievement belonged to the collective struggle of students and citizens. The organisation said the protest had achieved its immediate objective but stressed that its campaign for accountability and education reforms would continue.

Chief spokesperson Saurav Das described the resignation as "just the beginning", saying the movement would now focus on broader youth issues across the country. National spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka called the development a victory for students affected by alleged paper leaks and pledged to keep raising issues concerning education and employment.

Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, whose hunger strike intensified the movement, termed the resignation "a victory of democracy" and urged the government to move from accountability to meaningful reforms. While the nationwide agitation has ended, CJP leaders said they will continue their campaign for transparency, accountability and reforms in the education sector.
