Ananya Lohia , Chennai - Videos circulating on social media showed Janhvi beginning her pilgrimage from the Alipiri footpath in Tirupati during the early hours of the morning. Accompanied by her aunt, actor Maheshwari, she completed the challenging 3,550-step climb barefoot. Dressed in a simple kurta-pyjama with her hair tied in a bun, the actor kept a low profile while interacting warmly with devotees who recognized her along the route.
After reaching the temple, Janhvi changed into a traditional purple silk saree paired with matching jewellery, including a necklace, earrings, bangles, a waist belt and a bindi. Her temple visit quickly became a talking point online, with fans praising her devotion and simplicity. Meanwhile, the release of Peddi sparked celebrations in theatres across several cities. The buzz surrounding the film was further amplified after the Telangana government approved special early screenings and revised ticket prices ahead of its release. Early trade estimates suggested a strong start at the box office, with the film collecting around ₹10.97 crore net in India by 11 AM on its opening day, driven largely by the Telugu version.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a sports-action drama mounted on a grand scale with a reported budget of around ₹350 crore. The film features music by A. R. Rahman and stars Ram Charan in the titular role alongside Janhvi Kapoor as Achiyamma. The ensemble cast also includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Boman Irani and Divyenndu.
With Janhvi Kapoor seeking divine blessings at Tirumala and fans turning theatres into celebration venues, Peddi has kicked off its box-office journey on a high note. The coming days will determine whether the big-budget entertainer can sustain its momentum and achieve the coveted ₹500-crore worldwide milestone.
