News Desk - Delhi Police has busted a Pakistan-backed terror-crime module allegedly operating on instructions from across the border, arresting seven people in the operation. Police said the network was involved in smuggling arms, ammunition, and narcotics into Delhi-NCR and gathering intelligence on potential targets.
According to investigators, the module was linked to handlers in Pakistan and used Punjab as a route to move illegal weapons and drugs into the national capital region. During the crackdown, police recovered five semi-automatic pistols, 41 live cartridges, seven mobile phones, digital evidence, and a Scorpio vehicle. The accused were also allegedly conducting reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Delhi-NCR and sending information back to their handlers. Police described the group as part of a wider terror-crime syndicate operating under the direction of Pakistan-based figures Shahzad Bhatti and Ajmal Gujjar. The case has been framed as a major security breach, with officials saying the module’s activities included planning attacks, smuggling contraband, and intelligence gathering. The seven arrested men were reportedly residents of Delhi-NCR and Punjab, and further investigation is underway to identify additional links.
The bust comes amid heightened concern over cross-border terror networks and their use of criminal routes to build local support systems inside India. With weapons, drugs, and digital evidence now in police custody, investigators are working to uncover the full reach of the module and its foreign handlers.
