Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - Fresh chaos erupted at Jantar Mantar on Saturday after a woman allegedly threw an ink-like blue liquid at Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke while he was addressing supporters, further escalating tensions following the hospitalisation of activist Sonam Wangchuk.
The incident briefly disrupted the protest as supporters rushed towards the stage, triggering a commotion. Sharing a video of the incident on social media, Dipke wrote, "Blue is my colour... Jai Bhim!" The identity of the woman and the motive behind the act were not immediately known. The attack came shortly after Dipke announced that he would begin an indefinite hunger strike in protest against the removal of Sonam Wangchuk from the demonstration site.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police maintained that Wangchuk was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital on the advice of medical experts and in compliance with Delhi High Court directions due to his deteriorating health after 21 days of fasting. According to reports, the operation involved plainclothes officers, multiple security layers and a carefully planned strategy to move the activist without confrontation.
With Wangchuk under medical care and tensions rising at Jantar Mantar, the protest has entered a new phase, drawing nationwide attention and intensifying the political debate over the demonstrators' demands.
Mukesh Khanna’s call to replace “Jana Gana Mana” with “Vande Mataram” has sparked debate over India’s national symbols and the history behind them.
PM Modi warned against what he called “dimaagi Naxals,” urging their identification and isolation, while the Congress criticised the remarks as politically motivated.
