Desk Correspondent , New Delhi – A full emergency was declared at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday after an IndiGo flight from Visakhapatnam made an emergency landing following engine failure.
Indig flight 6E 579, a Boeing 737 had 161 passengers on board. Emergency was declared at 10:39 am. The aircraft’s flight path suggests it was going from Visakhapatnam to Delhi. Fortunately the technical snag was detected moments before the landing. The flight landed on the airport at 10:54 am with no mishap. All passengers and crew disembarked safely with no reported injuries. The airline said a technical sang was noticed in accordance with standard. “As a precautionary step and in accordance with the standard operating procedure, the piolets requested priority landing and the aircraft arrived safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Dehi,” an IndiGo spokesperson gave statement.
The aircraft is now undergoing necessary maintenance checks and all relevant authorities have been informed. Airport operations teams assisted passengers immediately. No major disruption was reported to any other flights. The swift and efficient resolution by the aviation highlights their professionalism and effectiveness in emergency situations.
