Delhi – Former CIA officer Richard Barlow labelled the form er PM Indiara Gandhi’s decision a “shame.” Pakistan was continuing underground nuclear development activities. India and Israel were about to destroy Pakistan’s Kahuta nuclear facility. According to Barlow Indira Gandhi “did not approve” of it. If Indira Gandhi gave her nod it would have “solved a lot of problems”, Barlow said, referring to Pakistan’s terrorist activities and nuclear development activities. 
       
According to a source, Richard Barlow came to now about Pakistan’s nuclear development plans from intelligence circles. “I heard about it at some point. But I didn’t get my teeth into it because it never happened,” he added. Recently, US President Donald Trump commented about their relinquishment of nuclear testing for more than 3 decades. In response, the ministry of external affairs spokesperson Radhir Jaiswal criticised Pakistan, saying its “clandestine and illegal nuclear activities” were in line with the country’s historical behaviour.

According to source, India and Israel planned a preemptive airstrike on Pakistan’s Kahuta uranium enrichment plant, the core of its nuclear programme. It was intended to stop the nuclear activities of Islamabad and the prolifiration of nuclear weapons, specifically to Iran, the adversary of Israel.
