Ananya Lohia , Delhi - An Indian student studying in France has gone viral after sharing her monthly living expenses on Instagram, with her claim of spending just 100 euros on groceries triggering a heated debate online.
The 20-year-old student, pursuing her bachelor's degree in Lille, said she spends around 750 euros per month, including 550 euros on shared accommodation, 100 euros on groceries and 32 euros on public transport. She added that cooking at home helps her keep food expenses low while setting aside a small budget for outings and shopping.
Her expense breakdown drew mixed reactions on social media, with many users questioning whether surviving on 100 euros for groceries was realistic. Others also claimed she was paying more than the average rent for shared accommodation in Lille.
The viral video has sparked conversations about the real cost of studying abroad, with social media users debating whether the student's budget reflects the reality of international student life in France.
