Desk Correspondent , Tripoli - An Indian couple and their three-year-old daughter have been kidnapped in Libya while trying to travel to Portugal. The family is from Badalpura village in Gujarat's Mehsana district and includes Kismatsinh Chavda, his wife Heenaben, and their young daughter Devanshi. Their journey started on November 29 when they flew from Ahmedabad to Dubai, intending to eventually join Kismatsinh's brother who lives in Portugal. They were using the help of a foreign-based agent for this travel.

The kidnapping took place after they arrived in the Libyan city of Benghazi, before they could reach their final destination. Soon after the abduction, the kidnappers contacted the family’s relatives back in Mehsana. In a terrifying demand, the criminals asked for a huge ransom of ₹2 crore for the safe release of the family. The worried relatives immediately reached out to the local authorities for help.
After the family’s appeal, the Mehsana Collector and police were informed about the shocking incident. They have quickly alerted the state government as well as the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi. Officials are now working to secure the safe return of the young family. This incident highlights the huge risks people take when they try to migrate to other countries through unofficial routes and foreign agents.
