Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar said he hopes Indian companies will soon take up airport construction projects in Israel. His remarks came after two Indian airports were recognised among the World’s Most Beautiful Airports 2026 by Prix Versailles.
Azar’s comment reflects growing confidence in Indian infrastructure and airport design capabilities. He pointed to the international recognition of Navi Mumbai International Airport and Terminal 2 of Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati as evidence of India’s strength in modern aviation projects. The Prix Versailles list for 2026 included seven airports from around the world and highlighted design, sustainability and passenger experience.
The two Indian airports were among those selected for their architectural quality and forward-looking planning. For Israel, the ambassador’s message suggests openness to Indian participation in future large-scale infrastructure work. For India, it is another sign that its airport and construction firms are gaining international visibility and credibility.
Azar’s hope that Indian companies may build an airport in Israel underscores the expanding scope of India-Israel economic cooperation. It also shows how India’s airport projects are increasingly being seen as global benchmarks rather than purely domestic achievements.
