Ananya Lohia , New Delhi - India concluded its 2026 Commonwealth Games campaign in Glasgow with 39 medals, including 13 gold, 17 silver and nine bronze, highlighted by record-breaking performances in boxing, para sports and judo.

Despite missing the 50-medal mark for the first time since 2002 due to a reduced sporting programme, India celebrated one of its most memorable Commonwealth Games campaigns. Boxing stole the spotlight with a historic haul of seven gold and three silver medals, the best-ever boxing performance by any nation in Commonwealth Games history. Weightlifting also made a strong start, led by Mirabai Chanu's third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold.

India's para athletes produced their finest-ever showing with seven medals, while judo delivered its best campaign as Harsh Singh and Asmita Dey became the country's first Commonwealth Games judo gold medallists. Athletics added 10 medals, with Neeraj Chopra winning silver and Gulveer Singh becoming the first Indian to claim two athletics medals at a single Commonwealth Games.

Although India finished with 39 medals, the Glasgow campaign will be remembered for creating new champions and setting historic benchmarks across multiple sports.
