Ananya Lohia , Delhi - The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for Delhi, forecasting light rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several parts of the national capital on Tuesday.

According to the IMD, very light rain or drizzle accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely in South East Delhi, East Delhi, Central Delhi, South Delhi, New Delhi, South West Delhi and West Delhi. Wind speeds are expected to range between 40–50 kmph, with gusts reaching up to 60 kmph during the weather activity. Areas including Dwarka, Palam and IGI Airport may also witness light rainfall or drizzle along with gusty winds of 30–50 kmph.

Similar weather conditions have been predicted for nearby regions such as Rewari in Haryana and Khairthal and Kotputli in Rajasthan over the next few hours. The IMD said rainfall intensity is expected to remain low, with precipitation likely to be less than 5 mm per hour. Residents have been advised to take necessary precautions and avoid leaving harvested crops in the open or applying fertilizers and pesticides during rain.

Delhi recorded a warm start to the day, with the minimum temperature settling at 30.2 degrees Celsius, above the seasonal average. Meanwhile, the city's air quality remained in the "moderate" category, with an AQI of 150 recorded at 9 am.
