New Delhi, August 22 — The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Thursday announced a revised schedule for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, with Navi Mumbai replacing Bengaluru as one of the host cities. The final will now be played on November 2 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
According to the updated schedule, Navi Mumbai will host a series of group-stage matches, stepping in for Bengaluru, which was originally included in the plan. Other host cities — including Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Kolkata — remain unchanged.
The tournament, featuring eight top women’s cricket teams, will begin in October and run until the grand finale in Mumbai. The semifinals are scheduled to be played in Chennai and Ahmedabad, ensuring a spread of matches across different regions of the country.
ICC officials said the changes were made to optimize logistics and infrastructure preparedness. The adjustment also reflects efforts to ensure better facilities for players and fans alike.
The Women’s World Cup 2025 is expected to draw record crowds, with India hosting the event for the first time since 2013. Cricket experts believe this edition will further boost the popularity of women’s cricket in the country, especially with India’s recent rise in global rankings.
Ticketing details and full fixtures are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
