Kerala is experiencing heavy rainfall as the southwest monsoon has officially arrived in the state today, bringing widespread showers across several districts. Dark clouds, strong winds, and continuous rain have been reported in coastal and inland regions, marking the beginning of the monsoon season in India.
According to weather updates, conditions have become favorable for the monsoon’s advance after a brief delay compared to the usual onset date. The rain has brought relief from the intense summer heat, but also raised concerns about waterlogging in low-lying areas and possible disruption to daily
Especially in districts prone to flooding and landslides. Fishermen have been advised to stay cautious due to rough sea conditions along the Kerala coast.
The arrival of the monsoon is a significant seasonal shift, as it supports agriculture and replenishes water resources across the region. More rainfall is expected in the coming days as the monsoon gradually spreads to other parts of southern India.
