The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai Police intervened dynamically by canceling earlier granted permissions for *qurbani* at select housing complexes, including the Satellite Garden Phase-2 society in Goregaon East. Civic officials revoked the permits after local residents raised intense concerns over public hygiene, health risks, and the proximity of authorized alternative facilities. Authorities confirmed that the livestock was successfully relocated from the residential zones to designated municipal markets to avoid potential health hazards and legal infractions.

Meanwhile, political friction escalated as BJP leader Kirit Somaiya publicly urged the BMC and police to launch stricter crackdowns against unauthorized animal slaughters. In a social media post, Somaiya alleged that illegal *qurbani* rituals were actively being conducted across residential societies in areas like Mankhurd, Deonar, and Govandi despite the availability of licensed community slaughterhouses nearby.
