Ranit Kr. Singh , Lucknow - The prime suspect behind the brutal murder of a 17-year-old student was killed in a police encounter in Ghaziabad's Khoda area early Sunday morning. The accused, a local resident whose identity officials have withheld, was wanted for the fatal stabbing of a Class 11 student who succumbed to injuries during treatment on Friday. The shootout occurred during a targeted police operation to apprehend the fleeing suspect.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dhawal Jaiswal stated that a police team intercepted the suspect in the Khoda locality following a tip-off. An exchange of fire ensued when the accused attempted to resist arrest by shooting at the officers. The suspect sustained critical gunshot wounds during the crossfire and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died during emergency medical treatment.
The encounter concludes an intense manhunt launched after the schoolboy's stabbing earlier this week, an incident that had sparked widespread outrage and safety concerns among local residents. Police officials confirmed that additional investigations are ongoing to establish the complete sequence of events leading up to the initial assault, though the main threat has been neutralized.
