Desk correspondent , Dubai - A recent drone attack was registered near the Fujairah Oil Industrial area, no casualties have been reported but a fire breakout was mentioned by the authorities in Fujairah. This route is also the only bypass present at the strait of Hormuz. This has affected the functioning of the one of the busiest airports, the Dubai International Airport which was temporarily shut down as a result of this commotion. A facility near the airfield was targeted, which damaged the fuel tanks, due to which several aircraft didn’t have access to the airport and had to circle outside the premises. The emergency team undertook the operations in its control and tried minimising the damage.
There was another attack after which the place was officially shut down. Flights belonging to one of the largest airlines, the Emirates, confirmed that their flights were suspended too due to the unrest in and around the area.
