Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir | August 28 – Tragedy struck in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir when a landslide triggered by heavy rains caused a house to collapse, killing seven members of a family.
Officials confirmed that the victims were trapped under the debris when the landslide hit their home late on Tuesday night. Rescue teams, along with police and disaster response personnel, rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies after hours of operation.
The incident comes at a time when several parts of Jammu and Kashmir are reeling under the impact of continuous rainfall, landslides, and flash floods, raising concerns about safety in vulnerable hilly areas.
Authorities have urged residents in landslide-prone zones to remain cautious, as weather agencies have warned of more rain in the coming days.
