Shivani Jaiswal , New Delhi -  Consumers may soon have to spend more on several everyday products as FMCG companies are considering price increases. Products such as toothpaste, soaps, shampoos, biscuits and health-related items could become more expensive.

Rising input costs, packaging expenses and other operational costs are putting pressure on FMCG companies. Some companies may pass a portion of the increased costs on to consumers through higher product prices. Products such as Colgate toothpaste and Chyawanprash could also see price changes if companies decide to revise their rates.

Any increase in prices is expected to affect household budgets, as FMCG products are part of everyday consumption. The exact increase and the date from which new prices will apply will depend on the final decisions of individual companies.
