Emergence of Fresh Tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan , resulting in 7 terror camps attacked and dozens killed

Desk Correspondent , New Delhi - According to Pakistan's Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, "the strikes were intelligence-based and selective,” aiming at a hideout allegedly belonging to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), its fighters, and affiliates with the Islamic State. Khorasan Province (ISKP), the group Islamabad blames for the recent deadly attacks on its soil. The attacks include a suicide bombing, which killed 31 people in Islamabad, and a northwest attack, which resulted in soldier deaths and the death of a child.

The Afghan government official Zabihullah Mujahid stated that the mission violated Afghanistan's sovereignty. He reported that "dozens, including women and children, were martyred and wounded" in the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika.

To regulate border conflict, which has intensified through border skirmishes since late 2025, Saudi Arabia plans to free three Pakistani soldiers who had been detained during an earlier military conflict. The action has caused this attack to happen. Recent suicide bombings have disrupted these peace efforts because they resulted in damage to existing ceasefire agreements, while they intensified Islamabad's demands for Afghanistan to stop militants from launching attacks across the border. The first of these attacks resulted in the deaths of about 11 Pakistani soldiers who were located near the border area.

The Afghan Taliban has responded through diplomatic protests, and they issued a warning that these attacks would not go unchecked because their defenders claimed they did not support violence nor provide refuge to militants. The current pattern of actions and responses presents a threat to the newly established ceasefire systems because it increases distrust among parties and heightens the danger of revenge attacks.

The toll on the population is already rising for villages in the rocky 2,600 km Durand Line, the long-disputed border. The international community observes a border region that carries both instability and intricate problems because precision airstrikes have evolved into an extensive conflict with dangerous consequences for regional safety.
