Dream11 CEO Harsh Jain Rules Out Layoffs Despite Revenue Drop

Mumbai, August 26 – Dream11 CEO Harsh Jain has confirmed that the company will not carry out layoffs, even after reporting a 95% loss in revenue following the Indian government’s ban on real-money gaming.

The recently passed Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025, has severely affected the fantasy sports platform, eliminating its profits and forcing it to rethink its business strategy. Despite the financial setback, Jain reassured employees that the company has enough capital reserves to sustain operations for the next two years.

Speaking about the company’s plans, Jain announced Dream11 3.0, a strategic pivot emphasizing free-to-play models, advertising, and AI-driven products. He said, “All the talent here is safe. We are committed to our workforce and will focus on building the company through innovation rather than cuts.”

The legislation has also impacted sponsorship agreements, including the termination of Dream11’s title sponsorship of the Indian cricket team. Jain stressed that while these changes are significant, the company remains focused on long-term growth and adapting to the new regulatory landscape.

Industry analysts note that Dream11’s approach could serve as a model for other tech startups facing regulatory disruption, highlighting the importance of maintaining talent and pivoting strategically in challenging times.

The CEO’s message provides reassurance to employees, stakeholders, and users that Dream11 aims to weather the crisis without compromising its workforce, while continuing to explore new revenue streams and product innovations.
