Desk Correspondent , Kolkata - West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has launched a scathing attack on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) following a series of raids on her primary poll strategist. The central agency conducted searches at multiple locations in Kolkata and other cities, reportedly as part of a money-laundering investigation. A visibly furious Banerjee accused the agency officials of "stealing" sensitive documents related to the party's election strategy, labeling the operation as "document chori" (theft) disguised as an official probe.

Banerjee claimed that the central government is using investigative agencies to gain an unfair advantage by accessing the Trinamool Congress (TMC) internal poll data and organizational blueprints. "This is not an investigation; it is a dacoity of our plans and documents," the Chief Minister told reporters, alleging that the raids are a desperate attempt by the BJP to weaken her party’s prospects in the upcoming elections. The TMC leadership has echoed these sentiments, accusing the Prime Minister’s office of orchestrating the raids to intimidate political consultants working with the opposition.

While the ED has not yet released an official statement regarding the specific evidence seized, sources within the agency suggest the raids are linked to financial irregularities in campaign funding. The agency maintains that all procedures were followed legally and recorded on camera. As the political temperature in West Bengal rises, the TMC has announced statewide protests against the "misuse of central agencies," while the BJP has countered by stating that "thieves are always afraid of the law" and that the agency is simply doing its job to uncover corruption.
