News Desk : What began as a friendship at a Diwali party allegedly turned into a deadly conspiracy. Pune Police claim that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary plotted the murder of businessman Ketan Agarwal, whose death was initially believed to be a trekking accident at Lohagad Fort near Lonavala.
Ketan Agarwal, 25, director of a leading warehouse development firm, got engaged to Siya Goyal in February and was set to marry her in November. Wedding preparations were already underway, with venues booked and celebrations planned. However, investigators allege that Siya was unwilling to go ahead with the marriage and had been in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary. CCTV footage later revealed a suspicious hooded man near Lohagad Fort on the day of the incident.
Police claim Siya and Chetan met at a Diwali party last year and remained in constant touch thereafter. Analysis of call records allegedly revealed over 2,000 calls between the two between January and June, with the pair spending nearly 238 hours on phone conversations. Investigators further allege that Ketan's death was not the first attempt on his life. Four days before the fatal incident, Siya allegedly tried to push him during another trek at Lohagad but later claimed she was saving him from a snake.
The case has stunned Pune and drawn national attention, not only because of the shocking allegations but also because it involves an engagement, a planned wedding and a relationship that investigators believe concealed a deadly secret. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to piece together the events leading up to Ketan Agarwal's death.
