Delhi Police and Jharkhand ATS arrested two suspected ISIS operatives in a coordinated operation on September 10, 2025. The arrests were carried out in Ranchi, Jharkhand, and Delhi, highlighting ongoing efforts to prevent terrorism in India.
The main suspect, identified as Ashar Danish from Petarwar in Bokaro district, was detained from a lodge in Ranchi’s Lower Bazaar area. Authorities recovered weapons, chemicals suspected to be used for explosives, and multiple electronic devices, including laptops and mobile phones, which are being examined for digital evidence and potential terror links.
Investigations suggest Danish was planning a major conspiracy and had been under surveillance in connection with a prior Delhi case. Delhi Police are seeking his remand to continue interrogation.
A second suspect was apprehended in Delhi during the simultaneous operation. Both individuals are believed to be associated with an ISIS-inspired network and were reportedly involved in activities supporting the group’s agenda in India.
The operation reflects the continuous vigilance of Indian security agencies in dismantling terror networks and safeguarding national security. Authorities are further probing potential links and plan to take action against other connected individuals.
