Delhi Capitals produced a complete team performance to register a comprehensive 40-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. Batting first, DC posted a competitive total of 203/5 in their 20 overs, built on a strong start and steady acceleration through the middle overs. Their batters ensured the scoreboard kept moving, putting pressure on the KKR bowlers throughout the innings.
The innings saw disciplined batting from the top order, followed by impactful contributions in the middle phase that helped DC cross the 200-run mark. The finishing touch in the death overs further strengthened their position, giving them a solid platform to defend.
Chasing a target of 204, KKR started with intent but quickly lost momentum as DC’s bowling attack struck early and often. The pressure of wickets at regular intervals made it difficult for KKR to settle into a rhythm. Despite a few individual efforts, the lack of partnerships hurt their chase badly.
KKR were eventually bowled out for 163 in 18.4 overs, falling well short of the target. The DC bowlers maintained excellent control, mixing variations and maintaining tight lines to restrict scoring opportunities.
Throughout the innings, KKR struggled to keep up with the required run rate as wickets continued to fall. The middle order failed to build any meaningful resistance, and the lower order could not revive the chase.
With this victory, Delhi Capitals showcased dominance in both departments—batting and bowling—highlighting their balance and execution under pressure. The win also strengthens their momentum and boosts confidence going forward in the tournament.
