Delhi - ​The severe Cyclonic Storm Ditwah is now rapidly moving toward the Indian coast, bringing deep concern to Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. This powerful weather system has already caused immense heartache in the neighboring region, where officials have confirmed that 40 people have died as a result of associated heavy rain, floods, and landslides. The focus is now urgently on saving lives as the cyclone is predicted to make its final approach to the North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and South Andhra Pradesh coasts by early Friday morning.

​In response to this grave and escalating threat, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded the highest warning, a Red Alert, for key delta districts like Thanjavur and Nagapattinam.
