Customer in Noida claims he found plastic glove in sandwich ordered via Zomato

Noida: A Noida resident has alleged that he discovered a plastic glove inside a sandwich he ordered through the food delivery platform Zomato. The customer, Satish Sarawagi, posted photos on X (formerly Twitter) showing what appeared to be a yellow disposable glove lodged between the sandwich fillings.

The post quickly gained attention online, sparking discussions about food safety and hygiene standards maintained by restaurants listed on delivery apps. Several users expressed concern, tagging Zomato and urging the company to investigate the matter.

Zomato has not yet issued an official statement, but officials said the complaint has been forwarded to the concerned restaurant partner for review. Meanwhile, consumer rights advocates have pointed out that such incidents highlight the need for stricter monitoring of food safety in the rapidly growing online food delivery sector.

Authorities are expected to look into the matter if a formal complaint is filed.
