Swapna Kumbar , Bengaluru - India’s Cockroach Janta Party says it is now waiting to see what the government does next after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on Saturday. The move followed weeks of protests over alleged paper leaks and irregularities in some of India’s most competitive exams, including NEET.

The resignation was described as the first major concession from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government after nationwide demonstrations, sit-ins and hunger strikes led by the CJP and its supporters. Reuters reported that the group had built a large following and had been demanding Pradhan’s removal over the leak of question papers for a national medical entrance exam.

Now that Pradhan has stepped down, the movement says its next demands will depend on how the government responds. Reports from the protest site said leaders were awaiting further announcements, with some protesters signalling they want wider accountability for the exam system rather than stopping at one resignation.

Pradhan’s exit is a major political win for the protesters, but it may not be the end of the unrest. The CJP appears ready to keep pressure on the government until it sees broader action on exam leaks and education reforms.
