Special Correspondent , New Delhi – On her birthday, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi found herself in serious trouble. The Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi has issued a legal notice to her regarding the ongoing citizenship controversy. The notice concerns her citizenship status and her inclusion in the voters’ list.

BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya posted an image of a 1980 Delhi booth’s voter list on social media. He claimed that during the revision of the 1980 electoral roll, Sonia Gandhi’s name was added. Following public objections, the name was removed in 1982. However, in January 1983, she was again listed in the electoral roll.
Amit Malviya had filed a case based on this allegation. Though the Rouse Avenue Court had dismissed that case earlier, lawyer Vikas Tripathi challenged the lower court’s decision before the Rouse Avenue Court. The court has now issued a notice to Sonia Gandhi in this matter.
