Desk Correspondent , Tehran - The Middle Eastern war crisis has started affecting the world, with Iran’s intention to provoke global unrest. It is creating a worldwide oil crisis as well as a famine-like situation in the Middle-East. Several attacks have been performed over exports to boost this situation, including on the strait of Hormuz which is the most crucial chokepoint. It is responsible for almost 1/5 of the global oil consumption and ⅓ of maritime oil trade; nearly 20 million barrels of crude oil is exported through this route on a daily basis.
The India’s shipping ministry said that there are 28, flagged vessels on the Persian Gulf region, out of which 24 ships are at the west of Strait of Hormuz, with 677 Indian sailors and 101 more on the east of the strait. It was reported that two Shipping Corporation of India(SCI) vessels had safely travelled across. These ships, Pushpak and Piramal managed to escape somehow, but three other tanks were attacked and had to suffer the damage. In recent updates,19 ships were attacked, with 7 people being killed.
The Indian government has been making constant efforts to overcome the situation. The external affairs minister, S Jayshankar had a conversation with the foreign affair minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi on Tuesday. Following which they have allowed the movement of Indian ships through the strait but have mentioned that if any vessel is found crossing without permission they shall be detained or attacked. Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, naval commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps(IRGC) has been posting on X saying, ‘’ Were the ships assured of safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz? This should be asked of the crews of the vessels Express Rome and Mayuree Naree who today, trusting in empty promises, ignored the warning and intended to cross the Strait but were caught.’’ It is predicted that the condition remains the same, until the government of Iran disintegrates, or Iran comes to an agreement with the US government.
