Ranit Kr. Singh , New Delhi - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey launched a fierce attack on the Congress party on Wednesday, labeling the June 3, 1947 partition plan as the "Mountbatten-Nehru-Jinnah agreement." Dubey asserted that this historic declaration laid the foundation for the long-standing geopolitical conflicts in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming that the deal deliberately kept the region separate.

In a social media post on X, the BJP leader alleged that the groundwork for India’s partition was finalized during meetings in Shimla between May 10 and 12, 1947. Dubey heavily criticized India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, accusing him of being influenced by his relationship with Lady Mountbatten during the negotiations. Furthermore, he claimed that Mahatma Gandhi was kept completely excluded from the decision-making process, going as far as to state that the Nehru-Gandhi family deserves to be branded as "national betrayers" for their historical actions.

This targeted criticism aligns with Dubey's recent string of attacks against the opposition party's legacy. Just days earlier, on May 30, the MP condemned water-sharing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed with Bangladesh during the tenures of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi. Dubey categorized those agreements as a "dark chapter" that compromised the resource needs of Indian border states and local farmers.
