Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - The makers of Batwara 1947 have released the official trailer of the Sunny Deol-starrer, offering a glimpse into a powerful story set during the 1947 Partition. The film explores themes of humanity, compassion and communal harmony.
The trailer follows a Muslim family in Lahore who are allotted a house after Partition, only to discover that an elderly Hindu woman refuses to leave her ancestral home. The film also marks Preity Zinta's return to acting after more than five years. Directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 features music by AR Rahman with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. The film has received an A certificate from the CBFC without any cuts.
Reuniting Sunny Deol and Raj Kumar Santoshi after several hit films, Batwara 1947 is set to release in theatres on August 14.
