An Army officer has been placed on the no-fly list after he allegedly assaulted a SpiceJet staff member at Srinagar airport, officials confirmed.

The incident reportedly took place during a heated argument between the officer and the airline staff over boarding-related issues. Eyewitnesses said the situation quickly escalated, leading to the physical assault. Airport security intervened and brought the matter under control.

SpiceJet filed a formal complaint, following which the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the airline decided to take strict action. The officer has now been barred from boarding any flights across Indian carriers under the no-fly guidelines.

Authorities stated that such behavior towards airline staff would not be tolerated, regardless of the person’s background. The case has also been reported to the Army for further disciplinary proceedings.

The move highlights the zero-tolerance policy adopted by airlines and regulators against unruly passengers, ensuring the safety and dignity of staff working in the aviation sector.
