Army launches rescue operation as 200 people stranded in Nanded floods

Heavy rains in Maharashtra’s Nanded district have triggered severe flooding, leaving around 200 people stranded in low-lying areas. The Army has stepped in to carry out rescue operations and provide relief to those affected.

According to officials, continuous rainfall caused rivers and streams in the region to overflow, submerging villages and cutting off road connectivity. Local authorities sought Army assistance as the situation worsened, and rescue teams were quickly deployed with boats and essential supplies.

Residents trapped in flooded homes were shifted to safer places, while temporary shelters have been set up for evacuees. Relief measures, including food and medical support, are also being provided.

District officials said monitoring of the situation is ongoing, and more rescue operations will continue until all stranded people are safely evacuated.
