The Indian Army announced on Monday evening that two terrorists have been neutralised in Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir after troops detected suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC).
According to the official statement, intelligence inputs validated by multiple agencies—indicated a likely infiltration attempt in the Machhal sector of Kupwara. Alert troops challenged the suspicious activity, prompting terrorists to open fire. The Army retaliated with precise gunfire, eliminating two militants and recovering weapons and other equipment.
Following the encounter, extensive search operations have been launched across the region to trace any remaining suspects or accomplices.
