Ananya Lohia , Punjab - Music maestro A. R. Rahman is set to deliver a special musical tribute to the brave personnel of the Border Security Force at the Attari Border in Punjab on June 7. Titled ‘Jai Ho – A Tribute to the Bravehearts’, the event has been organized by the team of the upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, for which Rahman has composed the music.
The performance will take place during the parade ceremony at JCP Stadium near the Attari border from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The event is intended as a gesture of gratitude and respect for the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of BSF personnel who safeguard the nation’s borders. Joining Rahman at the ceremony will be filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, actor Vedang Raina, and singers associated with the film, including Mohit Chauhan, Pooja Tiwari, and Nargis. Representatives from Birla Studios, Applause Entertainment, and producer Mohit Choudhary will also be present. Main Vaapas Aaunga is a Partition-era love story starring Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina, and Sharvari. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, the film follows two young lovers whose relationship is torn apart by the Partition of India. Naseeruddin Shah plays Dosanjh’s grandfather, reflecting on a lost romance from the past.
Speaking about the project, Imtiaz Ali said he wanted to explore the emotional and human side of Partition rather than simply recount historical events. He noted that while many details of 1947 have faded over time, the memories of youthful love and tenderness continue to resonate across generations. Main Vaapas Aaunga is scheduled to release in theatres on June 12.
