He shared that owning a property comes with responsibilities and attachments, and at this stage of his life, he wanted to feel more free and focused on what matters him, that is his acting career. His decision to rent a home reflects a shift in mindset—moving away from traditional ideas of success tied to property and embracing a more minimalistic way of living. While he chose simplicity but made sure to fulfill his mother's wish of owning a house in Shimla. He said that she always want a modest house, but, but he went a step further and bought a much larger property for her in which he and his wife Kirror Kher mostly visit in summer. He stressed that failure has been his biggest teacher, pushing him to evolve and stay creative. Interestingly, Anupam Kher had earlier sold his property to Alia Bhatt, which had already made headlines at the time. Now, his recent statements have once again brought attention to his unique and practical approach to life.
