Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the Santosh Mitra Square Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata on Friday morning. The pandal's theme, 'Operation Sindoor', pays tribute to the Indian Army. Shah also visited the Kalighat temple to offer prayers and attended a BJP-organized puja at EZCC, Saltlake.

Organized by BJP councillor Sajal Ghosh, the Santosh Mitra Square pandal is one of the largest in Kolkata. It features an AI-based visual show depicting the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, and showcases models of the BrahMos and S-400 missile systems. The display also honors Bengali IT professionals Bitan Adhikari and Samir Das, who lost their lives in the Pahalgam attack.

The pandal is designed to evoke a strong nationalistic sentiment, with special lighting and sound effects enhancing the experience. The organizers aim to awaken a sense of patriotism among visitors through this fusion of faith, art, and political messaging.

Shah's visit underscores the BJP's efforts to engage with the community during the Durga Puja festivities, blending cultural celebrations with nationalistic themes.
