Union Home Minister Amit Shah has confirmed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will contest the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, with vote counting on November 14.
In an exclusive interview with media Shah emphasized that the NDA is united and will fight the elections collectively. He stated, "I am not the one to decide whether Nitish Kumar will be CM or not. For now, we are contesting under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. After the elections, all allies will sit together and decide on their leader." Shah also revealed that after the 2020 assembly elections, Nitish Kumar had approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi, suggesting that the Chief Minister should be from the BJP, as the party had secured more seats. However, the alliance respected its commitment, and Nitish Kumar continued as Chief Minister due to his seniority and earned respect
