Ananya Lohia , France - Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan finally made her much-awaited appearance at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, turning heads on the red carpet in a striking blue sculptural gown designed by Amit Aggarwal. Representing L'Oréal Paris as its global ambassador, the actor greeted photographers with a traditional namaste and posed alongside fellow ambassador Eva Longoria.
Aishwarya attended the screening of Palme d’Or contender The Birthday Party, starring Monica Bellucci. Her couture outfit, titled Luminara, was inspired by the idea of light in motion and featured dramatic sculptural craftsmanship. She completed the look with a shimmering dupatta, soft curls, pink-toned makeup, bold red lipstick, and diamond jewellery adorned with blue stones. Later in the evening, the actor changed into a pastel pink floral gown with a flowing cape by Sophie Couture for the “Lights On Women’s Worth” event. She was accompanied by her 14-year-old daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who wore a satin red gown with a sparkling cape. The event also saw the presence of celebrities including Ariana Greenblatt and Amy Jackson.

Aishwarya’s Cannes appearance came after weeks of online speculation over her absence from a promotional campaign video released earlier by L'Oréal Paris. Fans had questioned why she was not featured alongside stars like Alia Bhatt, Viola Davis and Helen Mirren. The brand later reassured fans, saying Aishwarya “never misses” Cannes.
With her elegant fashion choices and graceful red carpet presence, Aishwarya once again proved why she remains one of Cannes’ most celebrated Indian faces. Her appearance alongside Aaradhya also added a personal touch to the glamorous evening, making it one of the festival’s most talked-about moments.
