All 179 people on board, including passengers and crew members, are safe and disembarked the aircraft normally following the incident. The airline immediately pulled the plane from service to undergo safety assessments.
The affected flight, AI2651, has been officially grounded at Bengaluru’s airport for a "detailed inspection" to evaluate the extent of the damage caused to the rear fuselage. Air India has confirmed that a thorough probe is underway to determine the exact cause of the landing mishap. The carrier is working alongside aviation watchdogs to ensure a comprehensive review of the flight's final approach.
The incident is currently being handled under standard aviation safety protocols. In an official statement addressing the matter, Air India stated, “The incident will be investigated in accordance with established procedures, in coordination with the relevant regulatory authorities.”
