After Operation Sindoor, Nana Patekar Gives ₹42 Lakh Relief to Families Affected by Pakistan Shelling

Nana Patekar has stepped in to support those severely impacted by recent shelling from Pakistan following Operation Sindoor. Through his NGO, the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation, the actor collaborated with the Indian Army to distribute relief worth ₹42 lakh among 117 families in the Rajouri and Poonch districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

The aid was handed over personally by Patekar during a visit to the Rajouri garrison on September 22, 2025. He called it a collective duty of citizens to help compatriots in distress, saying, “They are our brothers and sisters. It is a collective responsibility for all of us.” He also praised actor Johnny Lever, acknowledging his charitable work done away from publicity.

Though the government has been active in relief efforts, Patekar expressed that individuals and organisations should not depend solely on it. He shared his satisfaction in being able to bring some happiness to those suffering from loss of life and property.

The Nirmala Gajanan Foundation—named after Patekar’s parents—has a history of involvement in education and healthcare initiatives in India. This latest rehabilitation initiative, supported by both the Indian Army and local civil administration, is directed especially toward civilians whose homes and lives were damaged in cross-border shelling.
