Ananya Lohia , Mumbai - Actor Adil Hussain has expressed deep concern over the recurring flood situation in his home state of Assam, calling for a comprehensive flood management plan. The actor said the annual devastation has left him frustrated and heartbroken as lakhs of people continue to suffer.

Speaking about the crisis, Hussain said he has witnessed devastating floods since childhood and believes poor urban planning, shrinking marshlands, deforestation and unchecked industrial development have worsened the situation. He questioned why successive governments have failed to implement a long-term solution despite advances in science and engineering, urging authorities to bring together experts to address the recurring disaster.

The actor also revealed that several members of his family, including his nieces and their husbands in Sivasagar, have been affected after their homes were inundated. Hussain said he has been trying to help them and remains in constant touch with singer Papon, who is also assisting flood-hit residents. He added that he is using social media to raise awareness and appealed to people to come forward and support those affected.

As Assam continues to battle severe flooding, Adil Hussain's appeal has highlighted the urgent need for sustainable flood management and greater support for affected communities.
